D.W. Morgan Brings 'Supply On Demand' Critical Trucking Service to Shanghai
Morgan’s investment in key China manufacturing sites to help solve the ‘last mile’ challenge: Providing identical transportation quality and visibility worldwide
PLEASANTON, Calif., February 25, 2010 - Supply chain and logistics firm, D.W. Morgan, is bringing its award-winning dedicated trucking services to customers in Shanghai, with the launch of its newest service today.
“It’s easy to send out goods on a plane or boat and send them to China,” said David W. Morgan, the company’s CEO and founder. “When they arrive in-country, though, that’s when issues can arise. Does that truck carrying your goods from the airport have the same handling standards you demand elsewhere? What about security compliance? To solve this global ‘last mile’ challenge, Morgan has invested in its own fleet of exclusive-use trucks—complete with Morgan GPS systems, consistent management and standard operating processes.
All Morgan drivers worldwide also use Morgan’s proprietary ChainLinq™ Mobile application for iPhone in order to post instant delivery verification online. Customers can view digital signatures, see a satellite map of exactly where the goods were delivered—even review live photos of the delivery.
Morgan has long been active in Shanghai and across China—with services that include spare parts warehousing, vendor-managed inventory warehousing, value-added resale, import/export and freight forwarding.
