MATTHEW SCHIFF JOINS COOK & SCHMID
11 year industry veteran will oversee accounts and drive new business
SAN DIEGO (MARCH 2008) – Cook & Schmid has hired Matthew Schiff as account supervisor, with responsibility for day-to-day operations of several of the firm’s client programs, including the award-winning forest stewardship and fire safety outreach and education campaign underway for the Mountain Area Safety Task Force (MAST) in San Bernardino County.
Schiff brings more than a decade of experience to Cook & Schmid on both the client and agency-side in such industries as hospitality and gaming, legal, financial services, travel/tourism and non-profit. Before moving to San Diego, Schiff owned and operated Gray Matter Advertising & Design in Reno, Nev.
More recently, Schiff worked for a local, top 25 mortgage lender and was the architect of the organization’s re-branding campaign at the onset of the refinance boom—generating over $50,000 in free press within the first six months of the campaign and increasing loan locks by 30 percent from the previous year. He also consulted with the San Diego Natural History Museum to promote its Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit, the most successful in the museum’s history.
“Matt brings front-line experience from some of today’s most challenging industries to our agency,” said Cook & Schmid co-founder Rick Cook. “And he understands how clients think and what their expectations are. That’s a winning combination that we always strive to offer our clients.”
Matthew Schiff has a Bachelor of Arts in History and an MBA. He is active in Junior Achievement, an organization that mentors elementary school students in the areas of entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy.
