SAN DIEGO – Renewable chemicals company Allylix Inc. today announced the recent hire of Leandro Nonino as vice president of sales and marketing for flavor and fragrance products.

“Leandro has an extensive background in the global flavors and fragrance ingredients business and brings to Allylix his extensive network of relationships with customers in those markets,” said Carolyn Fritz, CEO of Allylix.

Prior to joining Allylix, Nonino served as the global director of Firmenich’s flavor ingredients business segment, and sales director for the Americas for the company’s ingredients division. While at Firmenich, Nonino’s responsibilities included international sales and marketing, mergers and acquisitions, and long term strategic product planning.

“Allylix is a very interesting company because I believe that biotechnology is the future for the flavor and fragrance industry,” said Nonino. “Allylix is well positioned to develop many important products for the industry. In addition to his flavor and fragrance experience, Leandro has a decade of brand and product management experience in the food industry at Bestfoods, Danone and Masterfoods. He earned a Master of Business Administration from IMD International in Lausanne, Switzerland and a Master of Science in food engineering from the University of Campinas in Brazil.
