Case study: Tenet Health - Crisis Communications

Tenet Health care Corporation (NYSE:THC) hired Cook & Schmid staff to counsel the corporation and management at Alvarado Hospital Medical Center in San Diego when the hospital became the target of a federal investigation conducted by U.S. Attorney Carol Lam.  Cook & Schmid set up an on-site crisis office at the hospital and provided a broad range of crisis communication services – including media relations, media interviews, press conferences, media training, internal communications, opinion leader outreach and more – for more than a year.  The U.S. Attorney issued indictments and took the case to court; Tenet settled with the federal government after two juries deadlocked on a verdict.
