Firm to develop and implement strategic plan for Balboa Park Explorer™ and Real Pirates exhibition
SAN DIEGO — Cook + Schmid, a full-service public relations, marketing and advertising firm, has been selected by Balboa Park Cultural Partnership (BPCP) and the San Diego Natural History Museum to provide public relations and marketing services for BPCP’s Balboa Park Explorer and the museum’s upcoming Real Pirates exhibition.
Cook + Schmid will provide an integrated community outreach, marketing and media program for the Balboa Park Explorer, an annual pass that offers unlimited general admission to 17 Balboa Park institutions. This selection comes after Cook + Schmid successfully planned and implemented a November 2013 press conference announcing BPCP’s goal of 10 LEED certified Balboa Park buildings by 2015.
Having worked on previous exhibitions at the Natural History Museum including Titanic and Dr. Entomo’s Palace of Exotic Wonders, Cook + Schmid will execute opening week media events, coordinating on-site and in-studio interviews, as well as marketing the Real Pirates exhibition to San Diego residents and visitors. The exhibition contains authentic pirate treasures from the first fully authenticated pirate ship ever discovered in U.S. waters.
