Where:            La Entrada Family Apartments, 1700 block of Logan Avenue and bounded by Sigsbee and Beardsley Streets

Background:   La Entrada Family Apartments is an affordable housing development providing 85 units to families earning between 30 percent and 60 percent of Area Median Income.  The $37.9 million project has underground parking, a central courtyard, balconies, streetside stoops, laundry area and a community center.

Highlighting the family apartments are colorful murals painted by members of the art collective Prism Process. The artists are former taggers who now specialize in public art and education.

The project also includes a computer center with high-speed Internet access, a lobby and reception area, and a rooftop terrace.  In addition, a social services coordinator will operate on site and provide resident services, including life-skills training, support and referral services, and educational classes.   

The three-story La Entrada Family Apartments includes 13 two-bedroom units, 60 three-bedroom units and 12 four-bedroom units of rental family housing, which is restricted for 55 years at levels affordable to low and very-low-income residents. 

The developer for the project is Global Premier Development.  Las Palmas Foundation is the managing general partner. 

More than $13.1 million in redevelopment housing set-aside funds from the Centre City Redevelopment Project Area was provided through the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Diego.
