Titanic Visits Fourth Grade Class for Show-and-Tell
A sharing of artifacts recovered from the Titanic wreck site
SAN DIEGO, Calif. —
What: A select sampling of authentic artifacts from Titanic’s wreckage will be shared with a fourth grade class as part of a special history lesson
Who: Theresa Nelson, RMS Titanic, Inc. Spokesperson; Dr. Michael (Mick) W. Hager, President and CEO of theNAT; Fourth graders in Ms. Stacey Gonzalez’ classroom at Rio Seco Elementary School
When: Monday, January 9
Please arrive by 1 p.m. to set up. Show-and-tell begins promptly at 1:30 and ends at 2:30
Where: Rio Seco Elementary, 9545 Cuyamaca St., Santee
Background: Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition is opening at the San Diego Natural History Museum on Feb. 10, 2012. Online ticket sales begin today, Monday, Jan. 9 and can be purchased at www.sdnat.org.
Interviews will be available with select students following the show-and-tell.
Visuals include:
· Five artifacts recovered from the wreck site of the Titanic. Artifacts include a piece of U.S. currency, an officer’s uniform button, a perfume vial, a wallet and tool handle
· Replica boarding passes will be distributed to the students
· B-roll of historical/underwater footage and sample exhibition footage is available
