GCS-PR Restructures to Pursue Differing Market Emphases

Former Partners Launch Cook & Schmid, with Added Marketing and Advertising Services, and Gable PR, with Tech, Pharma, B2B Focus

SAN DIEGO, Nov. 1, 2006 – Gable-Cook-Schmid Public Relations (GCS-PR), San Diego’s seventh-largest public relations agency, today announced a restructuring of the firm after five years of steady growth.

GCS-PR co-founders Rick Cook and Jon Schmid will form Cook & Schmid, offering public relations and expanded services, including marketing and advertising. Co-founder Tom Gable will form Gable Public Relations, focusing on business-to-business, technology and pharmaceutical clients.

The restructuring leverages the individual strengths of the company’s principals, while enabling them to focus more directly on their respective service areas and business interests.

Cook & Schmid will focus on serving government contracts as well as providing strategic public relations, marketing and advertising to clients in a wide range of industries. Cook & Schmid is a minority-owned business.

Cook & Schmid clients include San Bernardino County, The San Diego Rescue Mission, Forward Ventures, M Ship Co., Bisnar and Chase, Hichborn Consulting Group, Imaging Health Services, Plymouth Health and Alvarado Hospital.

Through its strategic partnership with The New West Agency, Cook & Schmid Public Relations also offers graphic design, production, and advertising. New West and the principals of Cook & Schmid partnered for the past two-and-a-half years on the public education campaign for the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority’s Site Selection program.
