SAN DIEGO – Cook + Schmid, a full-service marketing and public relations firm, today announced the firm was recognized with a Silver 2019 Finest award by the Healthcare Communicators of San Diego for it’s campaign on behalf of the County’s Health and Human Services Agency.
Cook + Schmid used multicultural digital marketing to increase free STD test kits requested from the County by young Hispanic and African American women. Cook + Schmid based its strategy on research and focus group testing that identified effective messaging and key channels of communication for the “Don’t Think, Know” campaign. Ads directed to Hispanic women included Spanish language content.
The program realized a 54 percent increase in test kits ordered and a 359 percent increase in traffic to an informational website over six months.
This year’s Finest Awards included entries submitted from all across Southern California.
