SAN DIEGO – Cook + Schmid, a full-service marketing and public relations firm, today announced the firm was recognized with a 2019 MarCom Gold Award by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals in the Category of Strategic Communications. The firm was awarded for its digital marketing campaign for the County’s Health and Human Services Agency.
Cook + Schmid used multicultural digital marketing to increase free STD test kits requested from the County by young Hispanic and African American women. Cook + Schmid based its strategy on research and focus group testing that identified effective messaging and key channels of communication for the “Don’t Think, Know” campaign. Ads directed to Hispanic women included Spanish language content.
The program resulted in a 54 percent increase in test kits ordered and a 359 percent increase in traffic to an informational website over six months.
MarCom Awards is an international creative competition, which recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals awards companies and individuals whose talents exceed a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.
This year’s MarCom Awards included around 6,000 entries submitted by creative firms from around the world.
